Karrisa Habel, LCPC

Karissa is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a Child and Adolescent emphasis from Lewis University. Karissa provides individual counseling to children, adolescents, and young adults. 

She has experience in providing therapy to those with eating disorders, trauma related to domestic violence, self-injuring behaviors, difficulties managing stress, suicidal thoughts, depression, and anxiety. Karissa is trained in several empirically based therapies, including, Dialectical Behavioral, Cognitive Behavioral and Interpersonal Theory, but she understands the importance of meeting you where you’re at.

Karissa has a background in both community outpatient work as well as inpatient psychiatric hospital work. She is well versed on assessing client needs and developing appropriate treatment plan to help the client reach their new goals. She has worked in the western suburbs and is local to the south suburbs and is familiar with a number of resources within the area.

Karissa will work with you to create a comfortable, enjoyable, and safe therapeutic space. As a therapist she strives to educate, empower and encourage her clients to achieve their goals and improve quality of life.
