
Micaela is a Licensed Social Worker, therapist, and received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Dominican University. Micaela provides counseling to individuals, family, children, teens and young adults.
Micaela has had a wide range of experience from working with a criminal defense attorney to a domestic violence shelter. Most recently she has worked in community mental health and a behavioral health partial hospitalization program.
She is experienced in working with adolescents and young adults living with anxiety, depression, ADHD, ODD and trauma. She works with therapies such as DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) as these are evidenced based practices known for being more hands on. She excels at coming up with creative ways to both engage individuals to help them develop coping skills and accomplish their therapeutic goals!
Micaela understands that beginning therapy is a big step and that it can be scary! She works to provide a comforting environment to help foster growth and build on your strengths. Knowing individual life experiences and history impact the success of therapy, Micaela has adopted a person-centered therapeutic style that meets individuals where they are at. Micaela’s goal is to create a safe space for all of her clients to comfortably gain insight, understanding, and skills to improve their overall wellbeing.
