Megan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional who obtained her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
She has worked with clients across the lifespan and in varying environments including acute hospitalization, residential treatment, and substance abuse treatment. She has extensive experience providing services to those with trauma, adjustment concerns, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, attachment disorders, parenting concerns and substance abuse. Megan provides counseling to individuals, couples, families, adolescents, and young adults.
Megan believes in establishing a safe environment where trust can be built. She is a compassionate therapist who believes that relationships are important, including a therapeutic rapport that provides trust and a safe space. Megan’s style is collaborative, and strengths based while challenging the client in their treatment goals.
She is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Attachment theory and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. Megan believes in tailoring therapy to the specific needs of individual clients. As a therapist Megan’s goal is to empower and encourage her clients to achieve their own goals and improve their quality of life.
