
Dorothy Kuklinski is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and a Certified Alcohol and Other Drugs Addictions Counselor (CADC). Dorothy obtained her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology Degree from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, specializing in Addictions Counseling.
She has experience working with adolescents from ages 12-17, in inpatient, hospital, and outpatient settings. She also has experience working with adults aged 18 and over, in inpatient, residential, and outpatient settings. Dorothy has worked with individuals struggling with mood disorders, self-injury behaviors, suicidal thoughts, depression, anxiety disorders, school stressors, self-esteem, and family conflict. She has worked with adolescents and adults with both mental health and/or substance use issues.
Her therapeutic modalities include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Dorothy works to empower clients from a strengths-based, non-judgmental perspective, while supporting and guiding her clients to cope with their life stressors. Dorothy allows a safe space for clients to process and make progress towards their established goals. She is also fluent in the Polish language.
